Better Late than Never!

Well, obviously a lot has happened since the last time I posted. I am going to try and be more diligent...but we'll see how that goes! I am now 15 weeks and feeling pretty good despite the awful headaches that come and go.

We have been to the Dr. three times since my last post and all looks great. The second visit was around 8 weeks and we were able to see the baby again. (I will try to post some pics of that visit). The third visit was at 10 weeks where we attempted to hear the heartbeat. The nurse came in with the Doppler but couldn't find it. So, the Dr. used the ultrasound machine and after what seemed like an hour we were able to see the baby again and its fast little flutter of a heartbeat. What a relief! The last visit was at 14 weeks 1 day and we finally heard the strong little heartbeat! What an amazing thing. It took the nurse no time with the Doppler...just hearing the whoosh, whoosh whoosh was incredible. After a few minutes of moving the Doppler around on my belly she asked if we had already had an ultrasound. I told her yes that we had several before this appointment. She said the heartbeat sounded a bit different in some locations on my abdomen. There is no way after all of those ultrasounds that a second baby was hiding?? Is there?? She didn't seem too concerned and neither did the Dr. so I think we are safe in saying there is only one baby growing in there.

Our next appointment is on January 19th where we will find out the gender. I have had a feeling all along that it is a boy. Anyone else have any guesses? There is a poll on the left hand side of the page.

I can't believe how much the little baby has grown since your last post!! "He" actually looks like a baby now! Can't wait to find out the gender. What a blessing.

Our Baby!

Our Baby!
The gestational sac is the large black hole. The bubble in the upper right of the gest. sac is the yolk sac. The blob in the lower right corner of the gest. sac is the baby!

You can see a little better in this picture. It's hard to believe that this eventually turns into something that looks human!
