After some gloomy and tumultuous couple of weeks we went to the doctor today and it is official....we are having a BABY.... with a heartbeat and everything!
My friend Layton had a blog throughout her whole pregnancy and I loved being able to keep in touch with how she was progressing. I am totally stealing her idea and creating one for our soon to be family of three. (4 if you count Marty, which of course we do!) :)
We are measuring right on track at 6 weeks and 2 days with an estimated due date of June 20, 2009. We saw the heartbeat this morning with a strong 122 bpm which the Dr. said is normal for a baby that is only 6 weeks old. It looked like a little flicker on the ultrasound machine. Robert saw it right off the bat but she had to show me a few times before I actually saw the little heartbeat. Because things have been a tad scary we are going back in two weeks for another ultrasound and some peace of mind.
We have only told family and very close friends so for the time being we are just sending the blog out to those that are already in the know!
Only 8.5 months left!!

The gestational sac is the large black hole. The bubble in the upper right of the gest. sac is the yolk sac. The blob in the lower right corner of the gest. sac is the baby!
